Nurturing Parents

Nurturing Parents is a mentor program that offers supportive coaching and counseling for the parents of at-risk preteen girls (from Preteen Promise), with the goal of increased likelihood of positive outcomes by supporting family involvement and offering services designed to meet the specific needs of parents and families, including positive parenting skills and self-nurturing. Professional mentors serve as a supportive counselors to the parents, engaging them in a common goal: improving their child’s behavior. The mentor offers emotional support and helps the parents identify needs, find resources, and develop solutions.
